TURLOCK — Diners need not travel to experience worthy cuisine. In a town full of one-off restaurants and diverse tastes, a marketing firm, with the help of HeyTurlock, is launching this city’s very first Restaurant Week.
The event, the first of its kind in Turlock, will be part of California’s Restaurant month, run through the Visit California organization, and aims to increase traffic to local eateries during one of the industry’s slower months. Restaurant Week launches Jan. 19-28.
“Diners can expect for our restaurants to debut fun specialty menus, discounts, promotions and a lot of fun,” said Ali Cox, executive producer of the event and owner of Turlock-based Ali Cox & Company Marketing. “This will be an opportunity for restaurants to try out new recipes and welcome diners during a more quiet month of the year.”
Cox herself has experienced restaurant weeks in larger cities, including New York, San Francisco and Austin and plans to bring some of that prestige to Turlock. An account manager at her marketing firm, who boasts experience with Stockton Restaurant Week, dreamed up the event.
“We’re thrilled to help showcase our wonderful restaurants here in and around town,” Cox said.
Turlock Restaurant Week is for anybody looking to try one of Turlock and the surrounding towns’ restaurants. TurlockRestaurantWeek.com and HeyTurlock’s social media accounts will keep foodies up to date on the event as it nears, releasing the names of participating restaurants as they sign on and announcing some of the special deals and prix fixe menus to be expected.
So far, Angelini’s Italian Restaurant, Bistro 234, The Grand Cru, Hauck’s Bar & Grill, Red Brick Bar & Grill, Toscana’s Ristorante and The Udder Place have all signed on for the inaugural event.
